In this session we will critically examine some of the popular assumptions and highlight how smart organizations will leverage AI to succeed.

Artificial intelligence and quantum computing are transforming technology—and redefining cybersecurity risks. This presentation examines how AI introduces new attack surfaces through data manipulation and model exploitation, while quantum computing threatens to break current cryptographic protections. We’ll explore defenses which protect against attacks on AI models along with quantum-safe encryption, offering practical guidance for securing systems in the era of AI and quantum computing.

Artificial Intelligence introduces novel security challenges, including adversarial attacks and model vulnerabilities. Then there is the issue of how to defend against these threats. This session will cover six different types of AI attacks in order to provide a better understanding of the threatscape along with capabilities needed to secure the data, the model, the usage and the infrastructure.

This presentation explores the rise of deepfakes and synthetic reality, highlighting their potential for both innovation and misuse. We will delve into the underlying technology, including AI and machine learning, that enables the creation of hyper-realistic media. The discussion will address the societal and ethical implications of deepfakes, such as misinformation, privacy violations, and threats to democracy. Additionally, we will examine current and emerging defense strategies, including deepfake detection tools, legal frameworks, and public awareness campaigns. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and solutions surrounding this rapidly evolving digital landscape.

What if people from the future suddenly arrived with advanced technology that could read all your data — including the encrypted stuff? Is there anything you could do now to prepare for such a scenario? Is this just a sci-fi movie plot or a real threat? Ignoring the time travel aspects, we actually can foresee a time when today’s crypto will no longer stand up to tomorrow’s attacks as a result of advances in quantum computing. The good news is that an entire field of quantum safe cryptography has emerged to help mitigate the threat. This session will give a brief overview of the threat and solutions that are on the way.

The initial reaction by many educators to the advent of generative AI and chatbots has been to prohibit it from the classroom and try to detect whether students are using it to do their work for them. What if that turns out to be the exact wrong approach to this new technology? What would education look like if we embrace rather than outlaw this powerful tool? How can we rethink traditional methods and expectations to adapt to the current realities and prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow instead of those from yesterday? This session will explore these questions and more in order to re-think the role of AI in education.
